Turnstiles used for reception areas to ease the traffic flow for public conveniences

A row over billing has centred on the Lowertown block, which Bradford Council shut in 2005 and which has been partially demolished. The disused toilet block is still producing an electricity bill according to some local councillors. In reply to these claims Labour’s Coun. Andrew Thornton noted that the standing charge of £100 paid between 2005 to when the electricity was disconnected in 2007 was an error taking place under a “different political administration” – blaming the Conservatives, who were in charge at the time.
