Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) set to create 350 new jobs in Southern North Sea

Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) is set to create 350 jobs in the North East area in order to assist in the build of four gas platforms for the Cygnus gas field project in the southern North Sea.

The deal means about 10,500 tons of fabrication work will be done in Hartlepool and will ensure work in the yard until 2015.

According to a news report in the local media, the contracting group, which specializes in engineering and fabrication, has appointed specialist recruitment consultancy Fircroft which has embarked on a marketing campaign to attract workers from across the region, with more than 800 applications being already made.

Sandra Groom, HR manager at Heerema, said that: "We have worked with Fircroft in Teesside for more than ten years and, after a rigorous evaluation of their capabilities, decided they were the best choice for this major contract award.”
