North Yorkshire Police has revealed it is to cut up to 350 staff jobs in the wake of public service cuts. The county authority announced its budget for 2011/12 would be £140.5m. During the coming financial year ten police officer jobs would be lost through natural wastage. Authority chairman Jane Kenyon said staff cuts were "very sad" but there was "no option in order to balance the books". Decreases in central government funding means all forces have had to deal with reduced budgets.
