Attendance recording for staff up to 15 times faster than swipe systems
Approximately 540 staff at Maltby Colliery, near Rotherham, were issued with redundancy notices last month. It is planned that the deep coal pit will be closed in the near future. When the notices were handed out in October, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) stated members would “work hard” to ensure the pit remained open. NUM branch secretary at Maltby, Dave Price, added that miners would make the Colliery “as difficult as possible for these people to shut”.
