Construction output across the North East rises, thousands of new jobs predicted for the area

Up to 3,300 new jobs could be created in the construction industry across the North East after output has risen for a second consecutive year, a recent report released by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has been able to reveal. The annual Construction Skills Network report shows that the 16 per cent rise means the sector was, up until 2015, worth £4.6bn to the region. The predicted jobs rise would take the region’s total number of construction jobs to 98,130.
