Teesside University to build £20m flagship facility in Middlesbrough

Teesside University has applied for planning permission for a new £20m flagship teaching and conference facility at its Middlesbrough campus, a news report reveals.

The proposed new building would provide teaching space and offices, while the additional space would also allow it to reconfigure its office accommodation on campus to further develop its library, which last year underwent a £2m refurbishment.

Professor Graham Henderson, vice-chancellor and chief executive of Teesside University, said: "We are delighted that the university is thriving and that we can continue to grow and invest in our campuses at Darlington and here at Middlesbrough.”

"Our students, community partners, neighbours and the businesses we work with are at the heart of everything we do and we want to offer them a central heart to our town centre campus which provides high quality facilities and an attractive environment.”

"This development will not just benefit our students, our neighbours and the people of the town, it will offer new facilities that contribute to the economy of the region and enhance the profile of Middlesbrough, so we can continue to attract the best new students and staff and engage fully with employers and investors," Mr. Henderson concluded.

Building this new facility will certainly involve quite a serious level of effort and a large number of contractors, and the best way of managing this workforce is one of the comprehensive solutions provided by Time & Attendance North-East.

Our systems are user-friendly, innovative and designed for the working environment. They also offer a wide array of features, such as support for contactless smart cards (which would really come in handy in a busy, dusty construction environment), as well as optional finger print biometrics and mobile phone SIM card support.

Moreover, the multi-user, networked, multi site Time and Attendance, Access Control, Fire Roll Call and security system includes European Working Time Directive checking and reporting and allows administrators to save up to 2000 employees, supports extensive shift management and payroll-related operations, the allocation of various pay bands, and much more.
