Each employee can be allocated different leave entitlements using personnel software
In the court case of NHS Leeds v Larner, clerical worker Janet Larner originally brought an employment tribunal claim for unpaid holiday pay under the Working Time Regulations 1998. This was because NHS Leeds had not paid her for leave that was accrued in the April 2009 to March 2010 holiday year. Larner’s claim was successful but NHS Leeds appealed. However, both the Employment Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal have now ruled in favour of the employee employer in this case.
Working Time Regulations, holiday pay and other personnel matters in the workplace are handled by Time and Attendance North East’s state of the art software. Graphical calendar charts within our WinTA system’s software provide a colourful way of viewing an individual’s or a department’s absence records or holiday entitlement. Each employee can be allocated different entitlements for absence such as annual leave or allowed sickness. As absence is booked and taken, the available remainder for each entitlement is updated.
