Single time clock can record employee details for up to 250 people
Doncaster Council workers will be balloted for strike action over reductions to services, while 500 jobs are expected to be cut over the coming year. Jim Board, Doncaster Unison branch secretary, said: "Doncaster Council’s threat of further redundancies and attacks on the pay and conditions of thousands of mainly low-paid women workers will have a devastating effect on the front-line services our communities rely on." The council said it was "inevitable" some cuts would "affect both staff and residents directly".

The North East region has a big hope for the creation of many jobs after the Corus Teesside Cast Products site in Redcar was finally sold to a company from Thailand. Business Secretary Vince Cable said the deal would help to secure 700 jobs at the plant. He said: "This deal is very good news for workers at the Teesside plant and the region. I welcome the return of steelmaking to this historic steel site later this year.”
